New 2018 Ram ProMaster Overview
The Ram ProMaster returns unchanged for 2018. The line is available in 1500, 2500 and 3500 ratings, two roof heights, three wheelbase lengths, two body lengths and in cargo and window van versions, all with multiple door options. Notable changes last year included Uconnect 3.0 made available on all versions, upfit interface connectors, a new wide rear axle made standard on all chassis-cab and cutaway variants and rear speaker wiring prep amade standard on all models, a new electronic parking brake made standard on EcoDiesel-equipped trims, and the EcoDiesel is no longer available on 118-inch WB versions. The standard drivetrain remains a Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 with 260 lb.-ft. of torque and 280 hp, mated to a 6-speed automatic, with a GCWR of 11,500 pounds. Some ProMaster versions are available with a 3.0-liter 4-cylinder EcoDiesel with 295 lb.-ft. of torque and 174 hp, mated to a Dual Active Drive 6-speed automated manual, with a GCWR of 12,500 pounds.
