Mazda introduces the MX-5 RF for 2017. Based on the Miata convertible, the RF is a fastback with a retractable top that operates with the flip of a switch. The RF dimensions are the same as the convertible, except for a 5mm increase in height. The roof consists of four elements: retractable rear window glass, and front, middle and rear roof sections. When the roof is open, the front and middle sections are stowed with the window behind the seats, however the rear roof remains stationary, hence the fastback silhouette. The RF is fitted with a large acrylic aero board wind blocker designed to prevent air from the rear from blowing back into the cabin. The RF is available in three trims: Club, Grand Touring and Launch Edition. The latter will be fitted with premium Nappa leather, a hand-painted black top and unique doorsill plates, and it comes with a serialized, custom-designed 42mm Tourneau watch. Options on select trims are a Brembo/BBS Package, advanced keyless entry and premium paint.
