New 2018 BMW 7 Series Overview
The BMW 7-Series returns with few changes for 2018. The 740i and 740i xDrive powered by a TwinPower 3.0-liter inline-6 with 332 lb.-ft. of torque and 320 hp. The 740e xDrive iPerformance has a plug-in hybrid drive system consisting of a TwinPower 4-cylinder engine with 295 lb.-ft. of torque and 255 hp and an ‘electrical machine’ with 184 lb.-ft. of torque and 111 hp. Its high-voltage lithium-ion battery features a gross capacity of 9.2 kWh and has its own cooling system. The 740e charged via the BMW Charging Station, a 120V outlet, or on the road using the provided ChargeNow access card. The 750i and 750i xDrive are powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 479 lb.-ft. of torque and 445 hp. The ALPINA B7 xDrive sports a 4.4 twin-turbo V8 with 590 lb.-ft. of torque and 600 hp. The M760i xDrive is powered by a twin-turbo V12 with 590 lb.-ft. of torque and 601 hp. All variants of the 7-Series are equipped with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission with manual mode.
