The 2009 Volkwagen Golf GTI UK debut date was announced today, at that is May 22 while journalists will have the chance to drive the new Golf GTI at the SMMT Test Day at Millbrook Proving Ground one week from today on May 21. Along with the new VW Golf GTI, visitors to the Volkswagen stand will also be able to take the new compact van Caddy Sportline for a spin, and see how its 2.0-litre TDI engine that packs 140 PS can perform.
As for the new 2009 Volkswagen Golf GTI power comes from an advanced 2.0-litre TSI engine developing 210 PS that is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission with an optional DSG gearbox also available. The overall performance for the 2009 Golf GTI has also been improved thanks to its new standard XDS system, Volkswagen’s innovative Adaptive Chassis Control system (ACC) with pneumatically controlled damper units as well as unique springs and a lowered suspension.
