The German brand is expanding its recently launched up! range with the five-door model that will be priced at 475 Euros higher than the three-door vaiant .
The newest member of the up! family will arrive at dealerships across Germany in May 2012, with the advanced sales starting on March 6th. The Rest of Europe will receive the five-door up! by early summer, with the automaker is anticipating that more than half of all up! buyers will prefer this new variant.
The engines offered on the five-door up! are the same as before, meaning a 60 PS (44 kW) and a 75 PS (55 kW) unit, and so are the equipment grades.
Despite the extra set of doors, Volkswagen claims that the five-door up! is identical with the 3-door version in terms of size, offering 947 mm of headroom at the rear (993 mm at the front), 789 mm worth of legroom in the second room and with a luggage compartment 252-litres in capacity (expandable to 951 litres).
The Volkswagen up! five-door costs from 10,325 Euros in Germany.
