Volkswagen announced the introduction of the new Passat BlueMotion, the ”most economical and most environmentally friendly model in the series” according to the German press release.
The Passat BlueMotion is available in two body variants, sedan and variant, and sets new standards with its low fuel consumption of 3.7 liters/100 km (63 mpg) respectively and a CO2 emissions of 95 g/km.
The new Passat BlueMotion is delivered with a 1.6 liter TDI engine, combined with a 6-speed manual transmission. The unit develops an output of 120 hp with a maximum torque of 250 Nm. The diesel consumption is urban 4.3 l/100 km (54 mpg) and the highway 3.3 l/100 km (71 mpg).
These excellent figures are made possible by the combination of efficient drive technology. So the standard specification include 16-inch alloy wheels "Copenhagen", an aerodynamically optimized radiator grille and radiator shutter. The Passat BlueMotion is available as a sedan from 29,425 euros and as a Passat Variant BlueMotion from 30,500 euros.
