Volkswagen has announced that it will introduce a high-tech SUV concept at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show. Until then, the German car manufacturer is offering a few teaser pictures that are attached in our gallery. According to some rumors, this concept will preview the upcoming Touareg generation which will be revealed next year. 

The new concept SUV draws inspiration from the already-seen T-Cross Breeze and has a prominent character line, plastic body cladding and a beefy hood. There are also special LED DRLs and conventional side mirrors. 

Under the hood, the new Volkswagen concept will feature a plug-in hybrid configuration. The setup will be able to deliver 376 horsepower and 699 Nm peak of torque. According to the same source, the concept will be able to return 78 miles per gallon in the combined New European Driving Cycle. On electric juice, the Volkswagen prototype will be able to travel up to 50 kilometers.

The run from stand still to 100 km/h is done in six seconds, while the top speed is clocked at 223 km/h. Inside the cabin, the German SUV will feature the Active Info Display merged with the infotainment system. With all the details we will come on April 25.
