Electric hot hatches are still not a thing that car manufacturers prefer. There are some high-performance electric vehicles on the market, but no hatchbacks.
Until Volkswagen CEO Ralf Brandstätter revealed images of a more powerful electric concept car based on the ID.3 hatchback. Its name is ID.X and, until now, there are no words about a production version.

The new Volkswagen ID.X is about 200 kilograms (400 pounds) lighter compared to a normal ID.3 and instead of one electric motor, it uses two of those.

The car has a total output of 329 horsepower, which is impressive for a hatchback. The extra electric motor allows the car to reach 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, which is 2 seconds faster than a regular ID.3.

We don’t know for sure if Volkswagen will build the ID.X, but hot hatches might be a thing in the future.
