Details and pricing for the cheapest Golf, the Volkswagen Golf Twist has been announced.
The Volkswagen Golf Twist is on sale at participating dealers across UK, and this new entry-level version comes fitted with a 1.4-litre petrol engine producing 80 PS and 97 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox spins the front wheels and when accelerating from nought to 62 mph, the car needs 13.9 seconds.
The Volkswagen Golf Twist can reach 107 mph, while efficiency figures indicate it can return 44.1 mpg (combined) and has CO2 emission levels of 149 grams per Km.
The Volkswagen Golf Twist is based on the Golf S and comes with features like 16 inch alloys, the RCD 310 radio system, and a front center armrest. Systems like ABS, ESP and 7 airbags are also standard.

Volkswagen has announced details and pricing for a new entry-level Golf model which offers added value and extra equipment as standard. The Golf Twist is available to order at participating Retailers now with prices starting at £12,995 RRP on the road.
Available in three- or five-door guise, the Golf Twist is fitted with a 1.4-litre petrol engine which develops 80 PS and 97 lbs ft of torque, channelled, via a six-speed manual transmission, through the front wheels. Acceleration from zero to 62 mph takes 13.9 seconds and the new model has a top speed of 107 mph. The Golf Twist has a combined cycle economy figure of 44.1 mpg and CO2 emissions of 149 g/km.
The new entry-level model represents exceptional value for money with more than £700 of additional equipment over the Golf S on which it is based. The Twist adds 16-inch ‘Atlanta’ alloy wheels, RCD 310 radio system with MDI multimedia connectivity and a front centre armrest to the comprehensive list of standard equipment. As with all models in the Golf range, the Twist is fitted with a host of safety features including ABS, ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme) and seven airbags.
The new Golf Twist costs £12,995 RRP on the road with a £585 premium for the five-door model. The previous entry-level Golf, the S with the same 1.4-litre engine, costs £14,880. Volkswagen is also offering further ways to save money and added peace of mind on the Golf Twist, with competitive retail and finance offers.
Along with all models in the Volkswagen range, the Golf Twist is available with a fixed-price servicing package for retail customers. A one-off highly competitive payment of just £250 covers servicing needs for three years or 30,000 miles (whichever comes first).
Alternatively, the Golf Twist is offered through Volkswagen Solutions and is eligible for the existing finance offer available on all Golf models, with 7.9 per cent APR typical. This includes free servicing for three years or 30,000 miles helping to reduce the cost of ownership.
