The Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet is back on the market after a nine year absence, and as the new generation is going to be available for ordering in the UK starting from tomorrow, the automaker has decided to announce its price.
The new Golf Cabriolet which was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March, measures 4,215 mm in length, 1,424 mm in height and 2,578 mm in wheelbase (20 cm shorter than the EOS) and features an electrically-powered fabric roof which can be folded in 9.5 seconds at speeds of up to 18 mph.
Even when the roof is down the car offers 250-litres of space in the boot, and just like any other cabrio, the body was reinforced in order to maintain torsional rigidity.
The new Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet is available in three trim levels (S, SE and GT) and the standard list of equipment will include 16-inch alloy wheels and Bluetooh plus climate control, cruise control, parking sensors and automatic lights as we move up in the range (we’re talking about the SE).
Additionally the GT version gets sports suspension, Alcantara upholstery and 18 inch alloys.
The engine range contains three choices as well, and these are a 105PS 1.2-litre TSI, a 160PS 1.4-litre TSI and a 105PS 1.6-litre TDI.
The Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet price starts at 20,720 GBP and reaches 26,595 GBP for the range topping version.
