Last November, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series set a new record lap around the mighty Nurburgring. The German model managed to do a fast lap in 6 minutes and 43.61 seconds.

These days, the guys from Mercedes-Benz have decided to come up with some details on how their car managed such a great lap on the Green Hell.

We know that the car runs on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, but they aren’t the same ones you can order for your car. These special tires won’t heat as fast as the factory fitted Cup 2 R Mercedes Original (MO) tires.

For the record run, the engineers dialed the adjustable coilovers with a 0.2-inch drop in the front and 0.1 inches in the back. 3.8 degrees of negative camber was also set at the front with 3.0 degrees at the back. Also, the adjustable sway bars were set for the hardest settings.
