Volkswagen is presenting their Temporary Auto Pilot (TAP) through a video that shows how this new system really works on the road.
According to the company the Temporary Auto Pilot can be engaged at speeds of up to 80 mph, and apart from controlling the steering wheel, it can also adapt to various traffic scenarios. For example it can prevent the car from braking the speed limits, it can prevent overtaking from the right, and it can also apply heavy braking in case of emergency.
Volkswagen’s Temporary Auto Pilot system was demonstrated on a Passat at this year’s HAVEit (Highly Automated Vehicles for Intelligent Transport) event in Sweden, a project funded by the European Union which aims at increasing driving safety.
