Vicky Handersson from FifthGear has traveled to the Assen TT circuit in the Netherlands in order to find out if the Lotus Evora S is as fast as its main rival, the Porsche Carrera S.
Even though statistically the two performance coupes are very close, their designs are very different. The Evora S costs 60,300 GBP and its mid positioned supercharged engine rated at 345 bhp enables it to sprint from nought to 60 in 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 172 mph.
The Carrera S comes as we all known with a rear positioned powerplant which does not use a supercharger, and which produces 340 bhp. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in the Carrera S which by the way costs 67,270 GBP, takes 4.9 seconds while its top speed is 180 mph.
After doing a quick lap in both cars the results are that the track focused Lotus Evora S is 0.4 seconds faster than the more sophisticated Porsche Carrera S. If you want to check that out for yourself then you need to follow the jump and hit play.
