In this next video Road & Track accelerates the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe side by side with the Shelby GT500 in a drag race that wants to show which of these American built cars is faster from 0 to 60 mph.
On paper the 6.2-litre V8 powering the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe produces 556 HP (415 kW) and 747 Nm (551 lb-ft of torque) of torque and spiriting from 0 to 60 mph takes 3.9 seconds.
As for the 2011 Shelby GT500 Mustang the 5.4-litre V8 unit delivers 550 HP and 510 Nm of torque, with 0-60 times in the low 4-second range.
