Toyota’s European arm has published a new video in which it talks about the novelties inside the naturally aspirated sports engine in the Toyota GT 86.
This powering unit is the world’s first horizontally opposed engine which employs Toyota’s D4-S fuel injection technology in order to not only deliver balanced performance, but also maintain high efficiency levels.
Some of the features include a front mounted air intake with a low intake manifold, e specifically engineered exhaust system and a newly designed oil pan, as well as an engine position that has been pushed towards the center of the car as much as possible in order to achieve a low centre of gravity.
The 2.0-litre engine inside the GT 86 produces 200 HP and 205 Nm of torque, enough to offer ‘brisk, engaging performance’ according to Toyota.
