Toyota is on a rush judging by the fact that there are a few days until the start of the 2023 Dakar rally. In order to defend the last year title, the Japanese car manufacturer has assembled its three GR DKR Hilux T1+ race cars at the Sea Camp, north of the Saudi Arabian town of Janbu.
The next step is a tought shakedown to confirm that everything works. After that are the final checks and administration for the new 2023 edition of Dakar.
The 11 kilometres long prologue is used to determine the starting order for the first stage and will take action during the afternoon of 31 December 2022. The race will kick off on New Year’s Day 2023. This year, the Dakar will featured 14 stages with a Rest Day following Stage 8.
This year, Toyota Gazoo Racing will have three crews: Nasser Al-Attiyah / Mathieu Baumel (car number 200), Giniel de Villiers / Dennis Murphy (205) and Henk Lategan / Brett Cummings (217).
