Autocar’s journalists are ‘working’ hard to provide the latest reviews for the most recent models. This time however they test drive a unique car that has been on the market for a few years, and that is the Toniq CB 200.
Powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine the Toniq CB 200 produces 200 bhp and 145 lb-ft of torque, which get put to work by a Mazda source six-speed manual transmission. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in the CB 200 requires 4.-seconds flat, and a top speed of 140 mph can be reached.
The Toniq weights 500 Kg, comes with a fully adjustable suspension and as you might have guessed it is all about having fun. Its biggest problem however is its price, which is 34,200 GBP, meaning is costs more than a Caterham R400 but without offering the same level of build quality. That is why the final verdict is three stars.

Driven this car and the Caterham. I think it unfair to say that the build quality of the Toniq is lower. If anything I think the round-tube chassis and fully independent suspension offer a more refined experience… just my opinion tho!
