Mercedes-Benz has published the final teaser that announces the new generation S-Class. As you may have read, the new model will be officially unveiled on September the 2nd during an online event.

This time, the German car manufacturer has decided to come up with a sketch of the new flagship sedan.

Last week, we found out the engine line-up for the US market.

According to our sources, the base version of the North American S-Class will be the S500. It will feature a turbocharged 3.0 liter inline-six unit rated at 429 horsepower. The engine will also be equipped with a mild-hybrid system that adds 21 HP.

Up on the line will be the S580, which will feature a V8 4.0 liter twin-turbo engine rated at 496 horsepower and 21 HP added by the EQ Boost system. The S580 will also be available in a plug-in hybrid version. The car will use a 3.0 liter petrol unit and an electric motor for a total of about 500 HP. Thanks to the 28 kWh battery pack, the car is able to travel in the electric mode for about 96 kilometers.

Last, but not least, will be the AMG variant, which will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain that will be able to deliver as much as 800 horsepower. The 6.0 liter V12 unit will be available only on the Maybach S-Class variant and it will work, for the first time, with an all-wheel drive system.
