Audi revealed the 2013 A3 Sportback, a model which will make its public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. With this five-door model from Ingolstadt, BMW 1 Series, Mercedes-Benz A-Class and Volkswagen Golf will have a new rival.
The five-door version of A3 is 73 mm longer and has a wheelbase of 2.636 mm. According to the German carmaker the rear passengers get "several more millimeters of legroom". The 2013 Audi A3 Sporback can provide a boot space of 380 liters and with the rear seats folded down, the clients will get 1.220 liter loadspace.
Thanks’ to its MQB platform, the 2013 A3 Sportback is 90 kg lighter than the model it replaces. Under the hood, the German model will borrow the engine lineup of the three-door A3.
For the beginning, the clients will be able to choose from a 1.4 and 1.8 liter TFSI petrol engines and a 2.0 TDi unit. Later, Audi will introduce a 1.2 liter TFSI that produces 105 HP and 175 Nm f torque. The standard version of the 2013 A3 Sportback will come with a manual six-speed gearbox.
The new model from Ingolstadt will be available in the German dealships from February 2012 at a starting price of 22.500 Euros.
