Volkswagen has officially revealed new details about the new Passat. These days the German car manufacturer has organized the international test for its sedan.
 
The new SEAT Passat is the best Passat ever and is up to 85 kilograms (187 pounds) lighter than its predecessor. The new car will be available with 10 direct injection petrol and diesel units. 

The fuel consumption has dropped by 20 percent and the CO2 emissions are down as well. These improvements were obtained thanks to the start stop system and the regenerative braking mode. 

Under the hood, Passat will come with the upcoming engines:

  • 1.4 TSI with 125 or 150 horsepower
  • 1.8 TSI with 180 horsepower
  • 2.0 TSI with 220 or 280 horsepower
  • 1.6 TDI with 120 horsepower
  • 2.0 TDI with 150, 190 or 240 horsepower
  • 1.4 TSI in plug-in hybrid form with 211 horsepower

The new Volkswagen Passat will be available in three different trim levels. We are talking about Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The European launch is scheduled for this November. The new model is already available for order in Germany and has a price tag of 25.875 Euros for the sedan and 25.950 Euros for the estate version.
