The aftermarket ECU remap specialists from Superchips have given a small power boost to the Euro 5 compliant Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCi.
Available through Superchips’s 80 dealers networks across the UK, this ‘Plug-in and Go’ DIY programming handset enables the 1461cc turbo diesel engine inside the Qashqai to produce an extra 20 bhp at 3,721 rpm over the standard 108 bhp, which should come in handy when considering that the 1.5-litre DCi unit has to pull a hefty 1,407 Kg.
The ECU reprogramming solution also provides an additional 37 Nm at 2,259 rpm, and Superchips claims that according to independent consumption tests performed on Superchips equipped vehicles, the optimised ECU settings and increased low speed torque output has lead to improved fuel consumption figures by up to 7 percent.
This ECU update is priced at 399 GBP and it is available for produced from September 2010 onwards.
