We do know that Smart was the first European car manufacturer to have an all-electric line-up. Well, it is not that hard when you sell only two cars, but we’ll give them credit.
In recent years, Smart hasn’t come up with a new car, and the EQ ForTwo and EQ ForFour are already old. But the car manufacturer has come up with a surprise for its fans.
For now, it is just a teaser picture of a future concept car, but the idea behind it is interesting. Smart will soon launch a larger all-electric crossover. Yes, Smart will have a crossover in the line-up.
There is no info about the powertrain concept, but we do know that the model will ride on Geely’s new Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), codenamed HX11. Geely also plans to use this platform for a future Volvo model, too. The architecture uses an 800-volt system which will be capable of using up to three electric motors, while the range should go up to about 700 kilometers in the old NEDC test cycle.
