The first set of official photos presenting the all new Skoda Rapid has been published today along with preliminary information regarding the Czech automaker’s new hatch.
Described as "clear, precise, fresh, timeless and elegant", the new Rapid sits between the Fabia and the Octavia in the company’s model range and aims at becoming the benchmark for roominess in the compact segment.
The Rapid measures 4,480 mm in lenght and 1,700 mm in width and is expected to have its public premiere at the Paris Motor Show this fall, with sales across the European continent scheduled to start soon after that.
The automaker’s CEO, Winfried Vahland said that "The SKODA Rapid is a roomy, elegant and at the same time an affordable
car for the whole family, impressing with clever solutions, cutting-edge
technology and high economy. In short, it is a car permitting mobility
in a comfortable, reasonably priced and environmentally friendly
package. The right car at the right time".
The Rapid features a coupe-like silhouette, a large tailgate which Skoda says it is not only functional but also acts like a design element, and various other elements such as the new logo that stands out on the rounded front edge of the bonnet, sharp looking headlights, distinctive taillights, all combined with the rest of the vehicle’s balanced proportions for an attractive overall appearance.
