Skoda has published a new set of pictures and more details about the brand-new Fabia. The third generation of the Czech subcompact model uses 50 percent of VW’s MQB platform and approximately 40% of PQ26.
 
The car is 65 kilos (143 pounds) lighter than the second generation and the entry-level version has 980 kilograms (2160 pounds). The new Skoda Fabia will arrive in the showrooms this November, while the Combi will be available at the beginning of 2015. 
 
Under the hood, the new Skoda Fabia will come with 4 gasoline units and 3 diesel. All engines are Euro 6 compliants and can deliver powers between 60 and 110 horsepower. All the units will be fitted with a start stop system and with a brake energy recovery system. When it comes to transmissions, Skoda is offering a manual or a DSG gearbox.

According to the Czech car manufacturer, the most fuel-efficient version of the Fabia will come in 2015 and will feature a 1.4 liter TDI unit rated at 75 horsepower. The car can achieve a fuel consumption of 3.1 liters per 100 km (75 mpg), with CO2 emissions of 86 g/km.
