During this year Detroit Motor Show, one of the most appreciated appearances was the mighty Shelby Mustang GT350R, a modified version of the Mustang GT350, ready to tackle every circuit.

The car was under development for many months, and last autumn was shipped in Europe to test on the famous Nurburgring circuit. The car performed good and even allowed the pilots to set a new record.

According to different media sources, the Shelby Mustang GT350 managed to lap the Nurburgring in 7 minutes and 32.18 seconds. The time is better than the ones of Ferrari 458 Italia and the old Lamborghini Murcielago.

For those who missed the Detroit Motor Show, we must say that the car features the first-ever production V8 from Ford with a flat-plane crankshaft – the most powerful naturally aspirated engine Ford has ever produced – plus a specially tuned suspension.

It is fitted with revised spring rates and antiroll bars, lower ride height, unique track-tuned alignment settings, revised bushings and jounce bumpers, cross-axis ball joints in the front suspension, and revised calibration controlling the MagneRide dampers.

Shelby GT350R
is more than 130 pounds lighter than the Shelby GT350 Track Pack model and promise to deliver more than 500 horsepower. No wonder it is capable of such time on Nurburgring.
