After we published the first leaked image with the Seat IBL Concept, the Spanish car maker decided to officially unveil its Frankfurt bound sports saloon study.
According to James Muir, President of Seat, "The IBL shows that sports saloons within the SEAT brand portfolio will
play an important role in future. However, this concept car does not
pre-empt a specific model, but rather shows the design philosophy we are
applying to bring the unmistakable SEAT identity to a saloon car, too."
The Seat IBL Concept has a wheelbase measuring 2.71 m and is 4,67 m long, featuring a dynamic roof line which would make the car almost fit in the4-door coupe category. Its lines are clean and minimalist, making it look confident and exciting at the same time.
Seat says the IBL would fit into a premium, individual lifestyle with this reinterpretation of the sports saloon featuring an ‘innovative interior’ which ‘shows precision and quality’. The cabin uses light leather in order to create a lightweight feel, along with contrasting surfaces covered by black leather and trim elements that match the red exterior body finish.
The IBL’s cockpit it oriented towards the driver, with a one-piece, curved glass surface covering the whole instrument panel. Seat says the IBL also comes with a programmable information system that allows three settings (Travel, Sport and Efficiency), along with a navigation system that incorporates data front Google Earth and an air conditioning system which facilitates draught free ventilation.
