Recently unveiled this spring, the new Scion iA is already ready to be ordered in the US. The Japanese brand is offering the sedan with a starting price of $15,700 for the 6-speed manual transmission and $16,800 for the 6-speed automatic. A $795 delivery, processing and handling fee is not included in the MSRP. The car is scheduled to reach showrooms no later than September 1st.
Scion’s first sedan features a profile with daring curves, hexagon lower grille and nice touches, including a piano black bumper treatment, chrome grille surround and chrome tailpipe. The color choices available consist of Stealth black, Abyss, Graphite, Pulse, Sapphire, Sterling and Frost.
The four-door has a high-strength body structure, high-compression 1.5-liter engine with 106 horsepower, a choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions and standard 16-inch alloy wheels. According to official numbers, the Scion iA has a fuel economy ratings of 33 city/42 highway/37 combined MPG for the automatic version 31 city/ 41 highway/ 35 combined for the manual. A Sport Mode feature is available with the flip of a switch.
Scion’s iA standard features are: keyless entry with push-button start, low-speed Pre-collision system, rear-view backup camera, 7-inch touch screen multimedia system with voice recognition, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power exterior mirrors, 60/40 split rear seat back.
