Porsche has unveiled today the 2013 911 GT3 Cup at the "Night of Champions" event. The competition model is based on the upcoming 911 GT3 and features a special body kit.
We are talking about a new front bumper with a splitter made from cabron fiver, a rear wing and a center dual exhaust pipes.
On the inside, the cockpit is more driver focused and comes with a flat bottomed steering wheel and an angled center stack. There are also new racing seats and a roof "rescue hatch". Thanks to this innovation, the roof can be very easy extracted in case of a crash.
Under the bonnet is a 3.8 liter flat six engine that smashes 460 hp (338 kW) which is 10 hp (7 kW) more than the old Cup version.
"The new 911 GT3 Cup is much easier to drive at the limit. The car is excellently balanced. The new axle geometry is enormously positive for the handling. Apart from that, the new Cup 911 is great fun to drive", said Timo Berhard, Porsche works driver.
The 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is priced form 181.200 Euros (excluding VAT) and it will compete exclusively in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.
