Rinspeed has officially unveiled the Etos concept ahead of its debut at the Consumers Electronics Show, the event that will take place in January 2016 in Las Vegas. The concept is based on the BMW i8 and comes with a unique exterior with custom body panels, new fascia, and a glass roof.
In addition we see 20-inch Borbet GTX aluminum wheels and a bespoke drone landing platform. The latter one has 12,000 individually controlled LEDs which can used as an electronic message board.
Inside the cabin we see a unique dashboard with two curved 21.5-inch Ultra HD widescreen monitors, and a folding / retracting steering wheel that disappears into the dash when the car is in autonomous driving mode. In addition, we see titanium pedals, ceramic accents, and unique seats that are embroidered with the skyline of San Francisco.
According to Rinspeed, the Etos features eight high-definition exterior cameras that are able to monitor the vehicle’s surroundings. The Rinspeed Etos concept also has a gaze-tracking system that permanently monitors the driver’s eye movements.
