FifthGear has recently reviewed the sportier version CRZ, the Honda
CRZ Mugen which comes to ‘correct’ the regular model’s output by
featuring a supercharger which enables a new power figure of 200 HP.
When compared to the standard variant, the CRZ Mugen is also
equipped with sportier looking body trim, carbon fiber parts and a loud
exhaust, and according to its makers, the purpose for such a car is to
test reactions to a hot CRZ.
At the interior the Honda CRZ Mugen
features new dials, Recaro sport seats and various other tweaks, while
the engine is the same 1.5-litre petrol that links to a 10 kW electric
motor, but which has been modified in order to make the car more
dynamic.
The Honda CRZ Mugen features a wider front track for
extra stability, a limited slip differential, bigger brakes, stiffer
suspension springs, adjustable dampers and lightweight 17 inch wheels,
but even though it all sound very good, FifhGear thinks Mugen is trying a
little bit to hard with this prototype.
A hot version Honda CRZ should definitely be made, but FifthGear thinks it shouldn’t be as brutal as this Mugen variant.
