According to a source close to Volkswagen, the German Group has sent a team of engineers in order to fix the cars that have failed to meet emissions tests.
The emission testers are settled in Westlake Village, California and will analyze all the cars based on the criteria sent from Germany. After the cars were investigated all the results will be sent back to Germany and then handed over to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
This move was made because Volkswagen didn’t have any engineers based in the US with the necessary expertise.
As you may have read, Volkswagen admitted that there are 11 million cars worldwide sold with the defeat device. The cars involved are made by Audi, Skoda, Seat and Volkswagen. More than that, 5 millions of those units are made by VW and 2.8 millions were sold in Germany.
