Today, Opel Group CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann, has revealed the heavily camouflaged Astra model. As you know, the new generation Astra will be revealed in September at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
According to AutoExpress, the German car manufacturer will also develop a high-performance version and will resurrect the GSi moniker.
As a result, the British media believe Opel will use the new Astra GSi as an entry-level version for the fully-flagged OPC edition. The upcoming Opel Astra GSi will come with a 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol unit and will deliver around 250 horsepower.
As a result, the Astra GSi will become the perfect rival for the Ford Focus ST and Volkswagen Golf GTI. According to the rumors, the Astra GSi won’t be out sooner than 2016 while the OPC version is already confirmed for 2017.
