Renault is still working on the modern Alpine, but we have a few tips and info regarding their new sports car. First of all, it will feature a mid-mounted engine in a 2+2 configuration.

According to Automotivpress under the hood of the Renault Alpine (name still not confirmed) we will see a 1.8 liter turbo engine and not a 1.6 liter with 240 horsepower (the active rumors until today).

The unit is based on the 1.6 liter turbo unit found under the hood of the Renault Clio RS and will be available in three power levels: 250 HP, 275 HP and 300 HP. It will share lots of components with the Clio RS engine but will feature a revised computer, new cooling system and cylinder head. The engine will be matted to an improved automatic gearbox with two clutches.
