British journalists from Autocar are always among the first to get their hands on the coolest ‘toys’, and in their latest review video they test drive the Porsche GT3 R Hybrid.
As you might already know, the Porsche GT3 R Hybrid features a petrol burning 4.0-litre 6-cylinder engine that produces 480 bhp and two electric motors that are mounted on the front axle and which deliver an additional 120 kW. These two motors are powered by an electrical flywheel power generator that recharges during braking and which can be used as a power booster.
As it was mentioned in the Porsche GT3 R Hybrid review video, this booster is like having a legal cheat during races, as it takes a very short time to recharge, it can also help save fuel and it is very effective during overtakes.
