Porsche has just released photos and details with the 911 Carrera 4 GTS, a new version that uses the same 3.8-litre 6-cylinder engine from the Carrera S and which also features all-wheel drive for enhanced traction and dynamics.
The power level however is up by 23 HP when compared to the Carrera S, thanks to the newly designed intake duct, so what this meas is that the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS produces a total of 408 HP @ 7,300 rpm and 420 Nm of torque between 4,200 and 5,600 rpm.
This upgraded engine has been combined with a sports exhaust system, and apart from the a series of modifications to the chassis, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS is now also featuring the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and a limited slip differential offered as standard.
Power is directed to the wheels via a standard 6-speed manual transmissions and depending on body style the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in either 4.6 seconds (Coupe version) or 4.8 seconds (Cabriolet version). These acceleration times can be further improved by 0.2 seconds when the car is equipped with the optional PDK 7-speed double-clutch transmission.
In terms of fuel economy and emissions the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupe returns 26.9 mpg and has CO2 levels of 247 grammes per Km, figures which according to the German automaker are identical to the ones returned by the 385 HP 911 Carrera 4S.
As far as newly added visual touches, boh the Coupe and Cabriolet versions Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS come with a reflective stripe between the tail lights, a Sport Design front apron, a black painter spoiler lip, special side skirts which are also painted black and a set of 19 inch RS Spyder alloy wheels.
The Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS price starts at 111,956 euro (83,145 GBP in UK) for the Coupe and at 122,071 euro (90,024 GBP in UK) for the Cabriolet. Both model will hit the market in July.
