Peugeot has presented its small-term plan. It was named E-Lion Project and will dictate the French manufacturer’s electrification efforts.
According to the new plan, Peugeot will launch five new electric cars in the next two years. Also, the combustion engine versions are not dead yet, as the French manufacturer will introduce a new 48-volt hybrid system.
This new system will be showcased this year and will be matted to the PureTech petrol units with 100 or 136 horsepower. These engines will be matted to an electrified six speed automatic transmission that comes with a 28 HP electric motor incorporated.
This system will enable the car to operate 50 percent of the time in electric mode. Just like Honda is doing now with its hybrid system.
