Peugeot will unveil the new Exalt Concept during this year Beijing Motor Show. With EXALT, PEUGEOT unveils its vision of a coupe sedan by following the design language initiated in 2012 with the Onyx concept.

The concept fetures dynamic lines, a high waist line, a raked windscreen, a roof  of just 1.31m, powerfully rounded wheel arches, a sculpted profile and new side panels with basalt fibre sills and 20-inch wheels.

The four door coupe has a length of 4.70m and uses bare steel to accentuate the lines of the vehicle. Associated parts such as the wheels are also in bare steel.

Inside, the passengers are treated at the elbows and arm contact points with warm toned wood. From the bottom of the windows, it gives way to a natural wool-based “chiné” mixed fabric used to trim the door panels, the dashboard and the interior roof.

The same material is used for the seats too, whether is the driver or the passenger seat. They are made of composite material associate seat squabs and backrest in natural wool-based “chiné” mixed fabric with side areas in aged leather.

The French manufacturer used black ebony wood to link its indigenous roots to the Asian continent. It bears a motif designed by the PINWU Design Trio agency. Combining a lion with bamboo stems and leaves.

With just 1,700kg, PEUGEOT EXALT is powered by a plug-in HYbrid4 drive train delivering 340hp  sent to all four wheels.

Under the bonnet there is a 1.6 THP 270hp developed by PEUGEOT Sport, linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. At the rear, the multi-link rear axle houses a 50 kW electric motor for electric or hybrid phases of operation. It also works as a generator for the lithium-on battery pack.
