Peugeot has revealed the first official photos of the 208 GTi hot-hatch, a model that will be unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The 208 GTi is powered by a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine, the same unit used by Peugeot RCZ, Mini Cooper S or Citroen DS3 Racing, which develops 200 HP and 275 Nm. Thanks to this figures, the French hot-hatch can go from stand still to 100 km/h in under 7 seconds.
The French officials said that the car will benefit from a tweaked suspension, new dampers, reworked anti-roll bars and a roll cage. To provide "an incisive driving experience" the 208 GTi features a MacPherson strut front and a torsion beam rear suspension. The French hot-hatch rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, shod with 205/45 tires which house 302 mm ventilated discs at the front and 249 mm at the rear.
The 208 GTi can be distinguished thanks to its sporty and aggressive body kit. We talk about a new front grille, chromed mirror caps, reworked side sills and a rear diffuser painted in black. Also, we can see new trapezoid chromed double tailpipes and the GTi logo on the C-Pillar.
Inside the cabin we have sport seats, aluminum pedals and gear knob, while the center console and the door handles have the same color as the bodywork.
