Volkswagen Scirocco GT24 CNG
Volkswagen just announced that it will enter the 24 Hour Race on the Nurburgring on the 23rd and 24th of May with two Scirocco GT24 CNG cars that will extract power from natural gas engines. The company says these inovative 2.0-liter turbo engines running on natural gas will develop close to 300 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque transmitting all the juice to the front wheels through a paddle shift operated 6-speed DSG gearbox. Aside from that the Volkswagen Scirocco GT24 CNG running on natural gas is more eco-friendly and cost-effective and will reduce CO2 emissions by 25 per cent compared with conventional race cars with spark ignition engines. Project M, the vehicle based on the Corvette ZR1 presented in a video documentary produced by KineticFin and Jason Castriota, has officially been named Mantide. Public debut for the Mantide will take place at the Shanghai Motor Show at the end of this week, so expect to have complete photos and details as soon as we get our “virtual hands” on them. The first Opel Insignia OPC official video was also released by GM today, giving us a few shots with the high performance vehicle in action.
