Novitec Ferrari 458 Italia
A second Novitec Rosso tuned Ferrari on display at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, besides the California is the 458 Italia, which features a series of aerodynamic upgrades and boosted performance.
Due to a carbon fiber airbox installed on the intake side, along with a high performance exhaust system made from Iconel, the Novitec Ferrari 458 Italia is now able to produce an extra 39 HP (28.7 kW) which means a total output of 609 HP (448 kW) @ 9100 rpm and 569 Nm @ 54000 rpm as well as a top speed of over 330 Km/h
Video: Pagani Huayra in NFS Shift 2 Unleashed
The latest trailer for the upcoming NFS Shift 2 Unleashed shows that the latest creation from Pagani Automobili, the V12 powered Huayra, which borrows its name from the Andean God of Wind, will be one of the cars available for gameplay.
As the video description points out, the NFS Shift 2 Unleashed is our best change of ever getting more personal with the new Pagani Huayra, as the 700 HP, 100 Nm of torque hypercar will be priced at around 1,46 million USD.
Lexus LFA Launch Control
This next video has hit the intertubes courtesy of French publication Magazine Motorsport, and it shows the Lexus LFA launch control system at work. The Japanese sports car reaches 260 Km/h from a standstill in something like 25 seconds, and last few seconds from the footage show us what that looks like when seen from the outside.
As a reminder , the Lexus LFA is powered by a 4.8-litre V10 which develops 552 horses and which has been tuned to produce F1 noises when the has pedal is pressed.
2011 Chevrolet Captiva Price
Prices and specifications for the facelift version 2011 Chevrolet Captiva, which will arrive in showrooms across UK in May, have been announced.
In the UK the 2011 Chevrolet Captiva is available with two engine options,both featuring the new 2.2-litre diesel engine, with power rated ad either 163 PS or 184 PS. The 163 PS model uses a 6-speed manual while the more powerful version will offer a choice between manual or auto 6-speed.
Video: BMW M3 Performance Exhaust
The Bavarian based sports car manufacturer is offering a new M Performance Exhaust System for the latest BMW M3 models in coupe, sedan and convertible body-styles.
Currently available in North America, the BMW M3 Performance Exhaust costs 4,374 USD (including installation) and is made from a combination of chrome and nickel which is called Inconel, and which besides being lightweight, it is also extremely resistant to heat. Thanks to this manufacturing technique the new M Performance Exhaust system is approximately 20 lbs (9 Kg) lighter.
Rolls Royce 102EX Concept
Here are the first teaser photos with the Rolls Royce 102EX, an electric concept based on the Phantom which will be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
The Rolls Royce 102EX Concept will ‘serve as a working test bed’ with the purpose of collecting real life data and feedback on alternative powering systems.
Maserati GranCabrio Sport
Maserati has just announced that it will premiere an even hotter version of the GranCabrio at the Geneva Motor Show next week. They are talking about the Maserati GranCabrio Sport which will pack more power thanks to an optimized engine and a more efficient transmission.
Powered by an all-alloy naturally aspirated 4.7-litre V8 engine mated with the ZF 6-speed automatic gearbox, the Maserati GranCabrio Sport will produce 450 HP (331 kW) and 510 Nm of torque which are enough to make the two-door cabriolet capable of reaching 285 Km/h.
G Power HURRICANE RS Touring BMW M5
We’ve seen the G Power HURRICANE RS Touring BMW M5 in action a few weeks ago through a video that surfaced on YouTube, and now the extreme German tuner has released official photos and details with the word’s fastest estate.
After it received the tuner’s SK III RS twin-supercharger system, along with numerous other modifications, the 5.0-litre V10 engine found in the G Power HURRICANE RS Touring BMW M5 has been increased to an impressive 750 HP (551 kW) and 750 Nm of torque.
Volvo V60 Hybrid Photos and Details
The Geneva Motor Show is right around the corner, so the Swedish automaker decided to release photos and additional details with the 2012 Volvo V60 Hybrid which will be seen in the flesh in Switzerland in less than 10 days.
The Volvo V60 Hybrid will go on sale next year, with a powertain composed from a 2.4-litre five-cylinder turbocharged diesel (215 hp / 400 Nm) plus a 70 hp electric motor which spins the rear axle and which receives its energy from a 12 kWh lithium ion battery pack.
Smart Forspeed
If you remember our post from early January in which we were talking about sketched photos showing a Smart CrossBlade-like concept, then we have new details on it. This concept will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next week and it will be named the Smart Forspeed.
The Smart Forspeed is an two-seater roadster powered by an electric motor developing 40 HP (30 kW) which promises top speeds of up to 120 Km/h and a range of 135 Km. Accelerating from 0 to 60 Km/h in the Smart Forspeed will take 5.5 seconds, and the car’s 16.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack can be recharged at a regular 220 Volt outlet.
