As for most of the manufacturers, 2015 was a great year with increasing sales and production. Nissan makes no exception as 2015 was the fifth consecutive year of growth.
According to their recent press release, the global production in 2015 increased 1.4 percent year-on-year to 5,170,056 units, the sixth consecutive year of increase and a calendar-year record. This although production in Japan decreased 0.9 percent year-on-year to 872,831 units, the third consecutive year of decrease.
The last month of 2015 was also great for Nissan. Global sales increased 11 percent year-on-year to 526,640 units, the first increase in two months and a record for the month of December.
Worldwide, Nissan was also on going very good. Global sales increased 2.1 percent year-on-year to 5,421,804 units, the sixth consecutive year of increase and a calendar-year record. In the U.S., sales increased 7.1 percent year-on-year to 1,484,918 units, another record. In Europe, sales increased 3.0 percent year-on-year to 761,053 units, while in China, sales increased 6.3 percent year-on-year to 1,250,073 units.
