The Japanese from Nissan have revised their top selling crossover, the Qashqai along with the Qashqai+2 range for which they now offer a new 1.6-litre diesel engine.
This new four-cylinder turbo-diesel replaces the 2.0 dCi manual and delivers 130 PS and 320 Nm of peak torque from 1,750 rpm. Nissan claims the new Quashqai is now 31 percent more fuel efficient 62.8mpg (+14.9mpg)/ UK rating, and has improved its emissions to 129 grammes per Km.
Its CO2 levels will further drop to 119 grammes per Km in 2012, when Nissan plans to equip the Qashqai with Stop/Start engine idle technology.
Apart from featuring a more efficient new engine, this revised version Nissan Qashqai will also come with an Around View Monitor offered as standard, plus a series of other "innovative items of equipment " which have not been specified yet.
Nissan’s Sunderland Factory in UK has produced more than 1 million Qashqai and Qashqai+2 models until now, at a pace of 1,200 units per day, and with these latest enhancements, the company plans to continue its dominance in the crossover class.
