Nissan will launch a must-have kit that doesn’t target vehicle owners as you might think, but people who own iPhones.
We are talking about a self-healing iPhone case called the Nissan Scratch Shield which uses an innovation from the auto industry : the self-healing paint finish. This paint technology applied to the iPhone case allows fine scratches to quickly mend themselves, and also makes the phone easier-to-grip.
The Nissan self-healing iPhone sase is made from ABS plastic, a high grade substance widely used in the automotive industry, so if you are looking for a robust option to protect your smartphone, this should be the way to go.
Bob Laishley, Overseas Programme Director Business Development for
Nissan in Europe, said: "We like to think laterally by taking the great
innovations we’ve got from an automotive point of view, and looking at
how they could be applied to improve everyday issues. The Scratch Shield
iPhone case is a great example of us taking a Nissan automotive
technology that has had a huge impact for our customers, and then
shifting the boundaries to apply it to another everyday product."
The Nissan self-healing iPhone case, which is compatible with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S models will go on trial through an initial batch of prototypes in order for the company to gauge the customer reaction.
The automaker said this new ‘shield’ will heal small scratches in as little as an hour, while more severe cases can take up to a week to heal.
