The guys from NextEV have launched the NIO brand and now the Chinese-based car manufacturer has revealed the EP9. We are talking about an impressive electric supercar.
The EP9 managed to lap the notorious Nurburgring in 7m 05,12 seconds on October 12th. The car also did a lap at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France and lapped the track in just 1m 52.78s.
“Today we launched our electric supercar that broke the record at the Nordschleife. The NIO EP9 was born to push limits and is the first stage of automotive production for NIO. It is a statement of our vision and technical and manufacturing capabilities. It is a best-in-class product that showcases what is possible with electric vehicles”, said NextEV founder & chairman William Li.
NIO EP9 comes with four electric motors that deliver a total of 1.360 horsepower and an insane 6.334 Nm peak of torque from 0 to 7,500 rpm. The EP9 can accelerate from stand still to 100 km/h in 2,7 seconds, while the run from not to 200 km/h is done in 7,1 seconds. The top speed is clocked at 313 km/h.
According to NextEV, the EP9 can do 427 kilometers without recharging the batteries.
