New details regarding the next generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution are starting to emerge. According to Autocar, the upcoming Lancer EVO will have a hybrid setup that could deliver more than 500 horsepower.
The standard version of the Lancer will be officially unveiled next year and a hybrid version is in the works. The performance version of the Japanese sedan could be displayed 24 month later. It could have a 2.0 liter petrol unit that will work with two 80 HP electric motors.
More than that, the upcoming Lancer Evolution will come with an updated version of the all-wheel drive system. Other benefits will be lower CO2 emissions and the possibility of running on electric power.
