Citroen Racing wanted to keep the new DS4 R a secret until its official unveiling time at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, but thanks to a Czech website we now have a few pictures and details that have certainly ruined the French automaker’s surprise.
It is unknown at this point if the DS4 R is only a concept or a production ready vehicle, but some of the details that capture our atention are its modified bumpers, the more pronounced wheel arches, the reshaped side skirts and the rear diffuser which integrated the dual pipe exhaust system.
The Citroen DS4 R also features larger and sportier looking alloy wheels and a carbon fiber grille while under the bonnet it is believed that the car will accommodate a 1.6-litre twin-scroll turbocharged engine capable of producing 256 HP.
Various sources believe that such an output won’t come from the 1.6-litre engine alone, and mention that that DS4 R will also feature a pair of electric motor at the rear which will be part of the car’s AWD hybrid system.
We will find out is that’s the case once Citroen decides to officially present the DS4 R.
