One of the most powerful four doors out there, the new generation Cadillac CTS-V is ready to reach its first US customers.
The American rival for names like BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V can be ordered in US showrooms, with first units scheduled to be delivered during this summer. Unveiled for the first time during Detroit Motor Show, the new Cadillac CTS-V has a starting price of $83,995, which makes it more affordable than its German rivals.
The new generation CTS-V uses a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers 640 bhp and 630 lb-ft (855 Nm) of torque, making it the most powerful car in Cadillac’s history. The V8 unit is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and can help the car sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds, going up to 200 mph (322 km/h).
The standard trim level will include a carbon fiber hood, Brembo brakes, 19-inch wheels wrapped with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, driver-selectable modes for touring, sport and track driving conditions, and performance-oriented, sueded microfiber accents and matte-finish carbon fiber trim.
Also standard is a third-generation Magnetic Ride Control, "the world’s fastest reacting suspension technology", according to Cadillac.
