Mercedes-Benz is strengthening its presence in the luxury segment with the introduction of its most luxurious S-Class.
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is now available, with pricing beginning at £162,390 for the Maybach S 580 4MATIC and rising to £177,025 for the S 580 4MATIC First Class. The Maybach S 680 4MATIC First Class has a price tag of £204,375.
The wheelbase is 18 cm (7 inches) longer than that of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class extended version. This emphasis on the rear is emphasised with even more sophisticated amenities, including additional massage features and a significant improvement for the First Class rear compartment.
The S 580 4MATIC is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine with 503 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. The EQ Boost mild hybrid system adds 20 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque.
The top-of-the-line six-litre V12 S 680 4MATIC First Class, which starts at £204,375, generates 612 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. The sprint to 62 mph takes only 4.5 seconds, but the fuel economy is 19.8 mpg and the CO2 emissions are 325 g/km.
All versions use a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission and are only available in extended wheelbase configuration.
The Maybach S 580 4MATIC includes the next generation of Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX); High-End Rear Seat Entertainment; MBUX Rear Tablet; MBUX Interior Assistant; Augmented Reality Head-Up Display; a digital TV tuner; 12.8-inch OLED Media Display; Burmester High-End 4D Sound System; ENERGIZING Package Front; designo piano lacquer flowing lines trim; 20” Maybach 5-hole forged wheels; Rear Seat Comfort Pack including massage functions; Exclusive nappa leather upholstery; high pile floor mats; DINAMICA roof liner; garage door opener; Comfort Doors in the rear; steering wheel in wood and nappa leather; Active Ambient Lighting; Adaptive Rear Compartment Lighting and KEYLESS-GO with seamless door handles. Rear-axle steering with a 10° steering angle adjustment is exclusive to the S 580 4MATIC.
Furthermore, the First Class models have 21-inch Maybach multi-spoke forged wheels, two wireless headsets, folding tables in the back, a nappa leather roof liner, rear-axle steering (4.5°), designo backrests in wood, champagne flutes, a 10-litre capacity rear fridge compartment, designo brown open-pore walnut wood trim with aluminium lines, and a nappa leather steering wheel. The S 580 features five seats, however First Class only offers luxurious individual rear seats.
For an additional £13,650, Maybach Exclusive Two-Tone Paints are available in eight distinct colours. The Mercedes-Maybach Exclusive nappa leather designo package, which costs £28,000, is available on First Class models.
