Daimler has welcomed a second visually enhanced model wearing the ‘Grand Edition’ badge (apart from the ML)
into the SUV range. We’re talking about the Mercedes GL Grand Edition, a
special version which packs extra exclusivity and features a more
comfortable interior.
Besides a set of special light alloy wheels in himalayas
grey metallic finish (wrapped in 275/50 R 20 tyres) the GL Grand
Edition comes with dark-tinted headlamps, a radiator grille with black,
high-gloss louvres, a newly designed front bumper with integrated LED
lamps, a number of metallic paint finishes, heat-insulating and
infrared-reflecting
laminated glass and separated exhaust tailpipe trim.
At the interior the automaker wants to create an even more up scale environment by fitting the Mercedes GL Grand Edition with two-tone leather seats (black/porcelain or black/maroon) featuring special piping and contrasting stitching, door panels,
armrests and dashboard with double lapped felling, a wood and leather steering wheel, black designo fabric for the roof liner, velour floor mats and brushed stainless steel and stainless steel door sills.
All Mercedes GL Grand Edition models come equipped with PARKTRONIC, and on the GL 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC the automaker also adds the SCR exhaust gas technology which helps the car deliver 211 HP and 540 Nm of torque while requiring an average of 9.0-litres of diesel fuel per 100 Km. The rest of the engines include the 265 HP V6 diesel unit in the GL 350 CDI 4MATIC, the 340 HP 4.6-litre V8 petrol in the GL 450 4MATIC and the 388 HP 5.5-litre V8 petrol on the range topping GL 500 4MATIC.
The Mercedes GL Grand Edition price starts at 80,206 Euro for the GL 350 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY and reaches 99,127 Euro for the GL 500 4MATIC.
