The German car maker is introducing two new special editions Mercedes G Class. These are called the BA3 Final Edition and Edition Select and feature various AMG elements along with an ‘extensive stainless steel package’.
The Mercedes G Class BA3 Final Edition is based on the short wheelbase model and as the designation suggests, these will be the final exemplars of the classic off-roader that has been available on the market for 32 years.
Based on either the G 350 BlueTEC version producing 211 HP (155 kW) and 540 Nm of torque out of its 6-cylinder diesel engine, or the 5.5-litre V8 petrol which spits out 388 HP (285 kW) and 530 Nm of torque, the BA3 Final Edition will include an electronically controlled traction system, ESP and three differential locks as standard. The Mercedes G Class BA3 Final Edition will feature AMG flared wheel arches, five-twin-spoke design alloys wrapped in tires size 265/60 R 18, an AMG radiator grille highlighter with chrome, an electric sunroof, metallic paint, rear mudflaps and various carbon fiber look inserts.
At the interior the Mercedes G Class BA3 Final Edition received chrome highlights on the frame and gear lever cover, seat adjustment controls and the front door loudspeakers. The luggage compartment sill panel has also received the Mercedes Benz lettering in chrome.
Pricing for the Mercedes G Class BA3 Final Edition starts at 90,511 Euro for the 350BlueTEC version and at 100,685 Euro for the model using the 5.5-litre V8.
As for the Mercedes G Class Edition Select, this time base model was the long wheelbase version of the G 500 Station Wagon. The automaker offers a choice between designo mystic white, palladium silver metallic, thulite red metallic and obsidian black metallic body colours, plus the list of enhancements includes AMG side flaps, obsidian black painted exterior mirrors, black painted 18 inch light alloys, inserts in the protective strips, an underguard and an AMG sports exhaust system.
The interior of the Mercedes G Class Edition Select uses high-grade two-tone upholstery in porcelain/black designo leather (optional Single-tone black designo leather) and again the same chrome enhancements as the ones in the BA3 Final Edition. Illuminated stainless steel door sill panels, crash-responsive NECK-PRO luxury head restraints, and a Harman Kardon Logic7 surround sound system with a 10 channel DSP amplifier have also been added.
The list of features included in the Mercedes G Class Edition Select package cost 6,735 Euro.
